With a new camera
in hand and all Cannes for the filming, it's time to shoot a short!
The Auteurs and Flip Video, in association with the Short Film Corner,
and sponsored by Celluloid Dreams, Facebook, and HP, present the
award for Cannes à la Flip competition.
The competition challenges 250 filmmakers to shoot a short film
during the festival using a Flip camcorder. Hengameh Panahi, Founder
and President of Celluloid Dreams, will preside the jury panel.
A grand prize of $10,000 will be awarded to the filmmaker with the
best short, with runners-up prizes including Hewlett-Packard laptops
and Auteurs tee-shirts! Visit the

The National Film Board of Canada will organize
on www.onf.ca/cannes and its partners an online short film competition
SPECIAL CANNES 2008. Ten short films will be selected by Danny Lennon
from all the registered shorts to the Short Film Corner. The online
audience vote will determine their favourite short among the 10 finalists.
The director of the winning short will be granted a professional-quality
DV-HD camera and a portable editing suite by the NFB. See

The Mini Movie Channel contest
The Mini Movie Channel 10,000 € award
will be granted to the director of a film registered to the Short
Film Corner and participating to the Mini Movie Channel contest. The
winning film will be selected by the Mini Movie Channel team and the
award will be given on Thursday, May 22nd, at the Short Film Corner.
To
participate: you can register as of today by sending the registration
form to Mini Movie Channel, or on the spot directly at the Short Film
Corner, on the Mini Movie Channel stand, between May 16th and May
